CSWatcher vs BetterFloat: overlay or sniper?
Short version: they are different categories of tool, and the honest comparison starts there. BetterFloat is a browser overlay — the most widely used CS2 skin extension — and it is genuinely good at what it does. It shows you information while you browse.

It does not buy. CSWatcher is an auto-buy sniper: it watches ten marketplaces around the clock and completes the purchase the moment a listing matches your rules.
More
If "which is better" means "which gets me the skin", CSWatcher is the best tool for that job — BetterFloat is not competing for it.
What each tool actually does
BetterFloat sits on top of the marketplace page you are already reading and enriches it: reference prices from other markets beside each listing, pattern and blue-gem data, sticker overpay, how long a listing has been sitting, plus alerts and auto-refresh. If you enjoy browsing skins and want better information while you do it, an overlay may be the only tool you need — and BetterFloat is the mature choice in that category.
CSWatcher works while you are not looking. You write a rule once — a price, a discount against CSFloat's Final price, a float range, a paint seed or a whole tier list — and the engine watches ten marketplaces continuously: CSFloat, DMarket, CSBoard, LIS-Skins, BUFF163, Steam, Skinport, Skins.com, BUFF Market and Tradeit.gg. On CSFloat it buys the match hands-free (and runs standing buy orders); on Steam, Tradeit.gg, DMarket, LIS-Skins, BUFF Market and Skinport it buys through your own signed-in session; on CSBoard, BUFF163 and Skins.com it alerts you with a deep link to the exact listing.

When BetterFloat is the right choice
When you browse manually and want context. An overlay enriches the page in front of you with data CSWatcher does not paint onto marketplace pages — that is its job, and it does it well. Plenty of people run an overlay for browsing and a sniper for the catching; the tools do not conflict.
When CSWatcher wins
When the deal matters more than the browsing. An overlay can only inform you about a listing while you are looking at it — the underpriced knife that lists at 4 a.m. is gone before you open the tab. CSWatcher is the best tool in this comparison for one reason: it is the half of the job an overlay deliberately leaves to you. It is free to watch — every scanning tool on Spectator, no card — so the claim costs nothing to test.
CSWatcher is not affiliated with BetterFloat, CSFloat or Valve. BetterFloat's features above are as its own public pages describe them, August 2026.
